There’s one piece of advice you will never hear leave my​​​​​​​​ mouth as a business coach these days… ​​​​​​​​

And that is “share your income to book more people into your offering.” ​​​​​​​​

I did that in my MLM days, every single day, “Hi, I’m shona, and I lost 25kilos, and I make $7000 a month from home” …. and let’s just say, therapy … lots of therapy to get past that and recognise the damage that type or marketing causes.

You don’t go to a doctor because they drive a BMW

you don’t hire a lawyer because their social media tells you how much money they make

You don’t hire a builder because they position themselves as “high ticket industry expert”

Yes, sometimes sharing your growth can be inspiring and expansive to show your audience what is possible and the reality of growth, but it only works like this with transparency. ​​​​​​​​And by that, I mean full honesty, where and how that money arrived? Is that in invoices, contracts or actual cash in your bank this month etc?

Transparency is the bit that is often lacking.

Do I share the details of my business income? Yes, with my accountant, financial planner, and team and sometimes with the right context my high-level clients or the women within my Elite membership

… the difference is these women are not in the process of “choosing” me, so my income will not be misinterpreted as a selling technique. ​​​​​​​​

Should you be proud AF as a woman of how much you make. YES

Should money be a topic of more conversations for woman. YES

Should we focus on a supportive healing expansive relationship with money and get rid of the tall poppies syndrome.. YES.

But, should it be your marketing strategy … no

There’s a reason I don’t share the details of my monthly revenue; there’s a reason I don’t encourage my clients to do so, either … ​​​​​​​​

Because why the fuck does it matter …. ​​​​​​​​

Some of my clients I have helped to make WAY more than me, and some of my other clients are just starting out and cannot even fathom how much I make, but that’s all ok.
