Mindset Tips for Women in Business During December

Although December can be a time of joy and celebration, it’s also a time when many women in business feel the pressure to succeed. With end-of-year goals looming, cash flow stalling and the holiday season just around the corner, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. That’s why it’s important to take a step back and focus on holding an abundant mindset. Here are some helpful tips to help you stay grounded during December.

Acknowledge Your Successes So Far

The end of the year is often a busy time for business owners, but before getting caught up in end-of-year goals, it’s important to acknowledge all that you have achieved so far this year. Take some time to reflect on all the successes you have had throughout the year—big or small—and give yourself permission to feel proud of those accomplishments. This will help shift your focus from what you haven’t achieved yet to everything that you have achieved and will motivate you as you move towards your end of year goals.

Prioritize Self Care

It can be tempting to put yourself last when you are juggling multiple tasks at once, but self care is essential for maintaining balance during December. Taking regular breaks throughout your day will help keep your energy levels high and prevent burnout as well as allowing you to stay focused on your goals. Make sure that whatever activities you choose for self care nourish both your body and mind; try going for a walk outside or taking 10 minutes out of your day for mindful meditation practice.

Focus On Your Why

It can be easy to lose sight of why we do what we do when trying to juggle multiple tasks at once or when feeling overwhelmed by our workloads. Reminding ourselves of our purpose can help us stay motivated during difficult times as well as helping us prioritize which tasks need our attention first. Ask yourself why this task is important and how it fits into achieving your larger goal—this will help keep things in perspective and give more meaning to what might otherwise seem like mundane tasks.

Setting Boundaries

It’s important to set boundaries both in your personal and professional life during December. This will help prevent burnout and ensure that you are able to give 100% of yourself when needed. Decide which tasks absolutely must be completed and delegate the rest where possible—this will free up time for more meaningful tasks and allow you to focus on the things that really matter.

Step back to see the bigger picture:

Entrepreneurship and December can be tricky. It’s either your busiest time of year, or your slowest, depending on your industry, and it can bring up limiting beliefs and anxiety in ways that it doesn’t the rest of the year.

So it is important to take a deep breath and remember this, like anything in life and in business, it is a phase … and it too will pass. If you’re having a slow few weeks, visualise January and Feb when things pick up again to remind yourself it’s going to be alright. If December is your crazy busy season, take a moment to plan some time off next year as a vacation break for yourself.

Perspective and mindset are everything, especially at this time of year.

Keeping an intentionally abundant mindset during December is key for women in business to stay on track with their goals while avoiding burnout. By acknowledging all that has been achieved this year, prioritizing self-care, and focusing on our ‘why’ we can remain grounded while still pushing ourselves towards success this month!
